LAWS

Part of Karuna Charities’ dedication to women and families in need includes providing emergency funding to LAWS, the designated Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Center for Loudoun County.

Money from the emergency fund assists survivors with urgent needs, like changing their locks for protection and safety, covering the fees associated with moving to a safe residence or accessing transportation to medical appointments.

While Karuna Charities’ funding helps to cover the costs of emergency events, LAWS offers other services to survivors at no cost. Survivors of all races, religions, creeds, immigration statuses, sexual orientations, gender expressions, socioeconomic statuses, ethnicities, and languages are encouraged to reach out to LAWS if they have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or child abuse in Loudoun County and need help.

LAWS offers legal services, crisis counseling, court and community advocacy, bilingual services, translation services, emergency shelter, safety planning, medical exam accompaniment, and so much more. LAWS has the ability to offer all its services in any language and does not discriminate in the provision of its services.  If you or someone you know has experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, child abuse, or stalking, please call the 24 hours 7 days a week LAWS’ hotline at 703-777-3398 to speak to an advocate and receive help.
