Picture this: May 12, 2001, a warm, pleasant day, nearly 60 golfers meet at the Reston National Golf Club in Virginia to play for Karuna Charities' fundraiser for the disadvantaged in the U.S., India, and other countries. The beautiful day ends with dinner at the White Tiger Restaurant in Vienna, Virginia attended by over 150 enthusiastic supporters of Karuna's good cause.

That evening, D.J. Hemant had everyone twirling on the dance floor at White Tiger. The entertaining aucutioneer Raja Bhandari auctioned the Air India round-trip ticket to India to Roma S. Chandra. To add to the enjoyment of the event, Millie Singh did a Gidda from the Punjab and members of her troupe sang songs from old Hindi movies.
