Karuna Charities' Second Annual Golf Tournament was held at the Reston National Golf Club, Reston, Virginia on Sunday, May 7, 2000.

The players were very enthusiastic despite a very hot day.  It was evident that supporting a worthy cause had put them in great spirits.

At 1:00 p.m., after a snack lunch, the keen golfers were welcomed by Karuna Charities' president, Lekha Sreenivasan.  The 59 golfers were flagged off to a cheery start by Amrit Kalotra.  Reeti Bedi, the coordinator of the tournament was among the happy golfers.

The superb dinner was catered by Bombay Tandoor.

Part of the proceeds from the golf tournament will go towards sponsoring one child for a 45-minute cleft lip operation to be conducted in Jamshedpur, India in November-December by the world's premier not-for-profit volunteer medical service organization, Operation Smile.

Karuna Charities thanks its sponsors and you for supporting its worthy cause.  Karuna Charities' members look forward to your participation in the next annual event, the Gala Diwali  Dinner.
